Job Description:

Kane Communications is looking to hire an estimator for structured cabling work.  This position would be a full time, salary position with paid time off, health benefits, and a 401k plan with an employer match.  This position would report to the Southwest Office located in Scottsdale, AZ but would have the flexibility to work from home on a hybrid work schedule.

Job Duties:
  • Review the specifications & drawings thoroughly and submit required RFI’s
  • Perform a complete take-off electronically based on the provided RFP documentation
  • Acquire project pricing on materials through the proper distribution channels
  • Develop an estimate based on a well-defined scope of work & bill of materials
  • Generate a professional and accurate proposal to send out to the client
  • Perform weekly follow ups with clients pertaining to pending proposals
  • Attend a kick-off meeting (virtually) with the operations team after the award of a project
Education/Skill Requirements:
  • Must possess a High School diploma or GED equivalency
  • Formal training with estimating software preferred
  • Must have (5) years’ experience in the low voltage industry
  • Must be proficient with basic computer skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & MS Project)
  • Must be proficient with Bluebeam take-off software
  • Must be detailed oriented with good time management
  • Must have a good work ethic with a desire to constantly improve
  • Must be able to work on multiple projects/estimates simultaneously
  • Field experience in electrical, security, or fire alarm a plus
